Doja Cat alienates loyal fans by saying 'she doesn't love them and to get a job'
Doja Cat’s biggest fan accounts have deactivated their fan pages after the singer seemingly mocked them for calling themselves “Kittenz” via the Threads app in now-deleted posts.
Some of the biggest stars including Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj all have names for their fans, but it seems like Doja Cat wasn’t having it from her fans. However, the drama did not stop there, as she also seemingly told them she ‘didn’t love them.’ We take a further look into the drama that’s gone down between Doja and her (ex) fans.

Doja Cat ‘calls out’ fans
Doja Cat went on a ‘rant’ toward her loyal fans this weekend for using the ‘unofficial’ fan nickname Kittenz, and of course, they’re not best pleased.
“My fans don’t get to name themselves s***. If you call yourself a ‘Kitten’ or f****** ‘Kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house,” the Streets singer wrote.
In screenshots captured by online users, in response to one fan asking what they should change their fan name to now, the 27-year-old replied:
“Just delete the entire account and rethink everything it’s never too late.”
However, the ‘bashing’ didn’t stop with the names. Another fan then said they wanted to hear the star say she “loves her fans” and unfortunately, more shade was thrown.
“I don’t though because I don’t even know y’all,” she responded.
At the time of writing, Doja Cat’s Threads account is now deactivated.
Fans deactivate their accounts
After seeing Doja Cat speak against the ‘Kittenz’ name for her fans, many of her biggest fan pages have now deactivated their Twitter accounts. Doja Cat News, which updated fans on the star’s ongoings, had over 40k followers before deactivating.
Many online users, fans or not, are shocked at the star’s ongoings over the last few days.
“Some of these celebs need to start understanding that your fans are literally the reason why you’re up there to begin with,” penned one.
Another added: “Telling your fans to get a job when they ultimately are paying your bills is INSANE.”
However, some fans understand where the star is coming from, as one wrote:
“You know what I find Doja Cat incredibly annoying but at the same time I’m here for someone actively destroying their own celebrity and also reminding people that you don’t know someone because you enjoy and consume what they create.”
“I don’t think Doja cat loves the fame she got, she is actively trying to be forgotten,” wrote another.
When did Doja Cat become famous?
After signing a recording contract with RCA Records in 2014, the Streets singer rose to fame in 2018, when her single “Mooo!”, went viral on YouTube.
Her hit Say So, then went viral on TikTok in 2020, which became her first top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100.
The star has had a loyal fanbase throughout her rise to fame, however, it now looks like she may have lost most of them after recent controversies.
She’s set to embark on her Scarlett Tour later this year, so only time will tell if she can gain back the support of her loyal fanbase.
